CEO and Founder · Chemnitz, April 1, 2026Hi,
I'm Alex. If you're reading this, someone probably sent you the link, or you stumbled across the footer line. Either way: thanks for the time.
I've spent my whole life enjoying meeting new people without ever really noticing it. Lots of travel, lots of moving around, built my first website in eighth grade. Five years ago I moved to Chemnitz, to the Kaßberg. There are small, actually pretty great spots here that almost nobody knows, even if you live here. Two years ago I had no idea that a hundred-meter Christmas market was happening a few streets away.
The idea came out of that observation. It got stronger when I noticed what it feels like to sit at home alone on a Friday night. Friends on vacation, busy with kids, sick. Nothing to do, and not really up for sitting in a café alone hoping someone strikes up a conversation. You need a reason. Spontanoo is that reason.
Other platforms help if I plan something two weeks out. If I want to do something now, I find nothing there. That's exactly the gap we close. You open the app and know: in the next hour something is happening nearby that you can join.
We believe that's more than a nice app. It's also a way to bring local economy back to life, and an answer to what many in my generation are feeling right now: this aloneness that doesn't really need to exist.
We're seven people today, all with equity, so far side-project. We brought the product to beta with our own money, without outside capital. On August 1 we go public. Until then we're looking for investors to take us from side-project phase into full-time operating.
If that interests you, write me directly. I reply personally.
